6 Ways to Beat Bed Bugs

Bed bugs can be the bane of your life, they are difficult to eradicate and cause stress and disruption to sleeping routines. However, with perseverance and hard work you can limit this problem and keep professional costs down. We have put together a list of some ways in which you can beat bed bugs in your home;

1. Clean up clutter

Reducing the number of places that bed bugs can hide will make finding and treating them much easier. Have a de-clutter of the areas which you think are most affected; clear out debris from under and around the bed and give the floor a good clean.

2. Boil wash bed sheets

Heat kills bed bugs so washing and tumble drying your sheets will help to eliminate any bugs hiding in them. Take your duvet and pillows to the launderette and have them service washed and tumble dried to help reduce any bugs hiding in them. They can also live in laundry hampers so make sure you remove any linings and wash those as well.

3. Dismantle bed frame

Taking apart your bed frame will expose any further hiding places. Remove any drawers from divans and give the nooks and crannies a good hoover, make sure to remove the bag afterwards to prevent them from escaping back into the house.

4. Contain luggage and backpacks

Keep your luggage and backpacks away from affected areas to prevent taking the problem outside. Seal them in plastic bags with bed bug remover to ensure that they are not infested.

5. Hoovering mattress

Regularly hoovering your mattress with a hoover attachment will reduce the number of bed bugs, make sure to hoover all around the bed, windowsills, skirting boards, carpets, floorboards, curtains and headboards to remove any offending insects.

6. Mattress protector

Always invest in a good mattress encasement. They are breathable, waterproof, machine washable, comfortable and do not let bed bugs in or out of the mattress. Our encasements have been certified by an entomology lab to be completely bed bug proof. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReNWnhRFvrU
